Triteq – Innovative & Resourceful

| Ideas & Opinions, News

This week it was reported that people in the south west of England are the most enthusiastic recyclers in the country, according to the latest opinion poll.

Friends of the Earth's new regional recycling league table evaluated people's attitudes to recycling at home and in the workplace and put all the regions in order of how much they love to recycle.

The south west topped the poll with 77% saying they recycle even if it requires extra effort. Susan Leach joined Triteq in 2004 and is a keen advocator for recycling, re-using and reducing waste, both in the workplace and at home. She has been a key instigator behind many of the energy saving actions at the company and also looks to work with environmentally effective suppliers.

Triteq has its own milk delivery to avoid plastic cartons, a keen locally based environmental print company and recyling facilites for cardboard and paper. Used postage stamps are also saved and sent annually to Guide Dogs for the Blind.

Information on Triteq was traditionally sent out in plastic envelopes, but these have now been withdrawn and this is now mainly done electronically. Susan makes sure she keeps her print orders to an absolute minimum. There are plumbed in water facilites for all employees and each office is equipped with its own jug to encourage the use of filtered water in the kettles to prolong their life expectancy. Susan makes sure all the trade magazines are distributed to the right people and when they have been used to best effect she makes they are responsibly recycled. in addition, the plastic covers that the magazines arrive in are aslo recycled.

Susan works in HR and Office Administration and is a great support to new employees who are all provided with a Welcome To Triteq pack which contains all the information new employees can spend weeks trying to find out when they take up a new position. Susan's helpful support is one of the reasons it is so easy to settle in quickly at Triteq and I have certainly found that when I am looking for information, not only is Susan always happy to help, she also always has the answers!
