The NIB (National Information Board) has published its Framework for Action: Personalised Health & Care 2020- Using Data and technology to Transform Outcomes for Patients and Citizens.A summary of the report was produced by techUK who reported that “techUK welcomes the significant commitment from the National Information Board to make England a leading digital health economy, by making better use of technology and data in the health and social care system.

We agree that technology can and does deliver benefits to both service providers and users and the NHS as a whole. It helps deliver more personalised and integrated care for patient and helps improve workforce management for healthcare professionals.

The Framework for Action outlines six categories where changes need to be made; helping patients make the right choices, giving professionals and carers access to the information they need, helping professionals make the best use of data and technology, improving transparency of care, supporting innovation and growth and building and sustaining public trust.
