Women with Bright Ideas Competition

On Thursday I had the opportunity to spend the morning as a judge for the Women with Bright Ideas Competition. It was so impressive. Incredibly exciting entries for products that have the potential to change lives for the better. After a Dragons Den style final, where the eight final entries were pitched to the judges, we stretched the decision making time out to the final minute, as we debated and deliberated the merits of each finalist. That was challenging! The effort and commitment that went into each idea was exceptional.

Where are the new Tech Clusters?

Where are the new Tech Clusters

So where are the top employment tech clusters in the UK? In a recent report commissioned by KPMG and produced with Markit results showed that 21 out of 33 local authorities in London had a higher proportion of technology jobs than the national average while Cambridge had created more billion dollar technology companies than any other city in Europe.

Women with Bright Ideas

Yesterday, Angela Hobbs, Triteq Marketing Director joined seven other panel members for the selection lunch for Women with Bright Ideas at the Bristol & Bath Science Park, a new environment for science and technology businesses. The event was organised by Sheena Awdry, Marketing Co-Ordinator for Engineering Innovation Network –South West and will culminate in a showcase in October 2014.

Zilico develop oral cancer diagnostic

 Zilico Ltd begins development work on a medical device using Electrical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) in the detection and diagnosis of oral cancer following funding from the Technology Strategy Board, the UK’s innovation agency.

Zilico Success in Australia

Triteq have worked with Zilico Ltd,  a spin-out company from Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and the University of Sheffield, from the initial concept stage of Zedscan 1, a ground breaking cervical cancer diagnostic device.  So we were  delighted to hear thatZedScan Ihas obtained approval from Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) - the regulatory body for therapeutic goods (including medicines, medical devices, gene technology, and blood products) in Australia. TGA approval for ZedScan means that is now listed on the register of medical devices and can be sold to the Australian Market. TGA approval is also accepted by other countries including Singapore and is viewed positively by regulatory authorities where there is a Mutual Recognition Agreement in place such as New Zealand.
