Despite the early start, I really enjoyed the Knowledge Transfer Partnership breakfast meeting at Oxford Brookes University Business School on Wednesday morning, the speaker Dr Emily Brown gave an excellent presentation on how the partnerships work, the costs involved and key points on the benefits of these programmes which involve the formation of a partnership between the business partner and an accademic institute. The partnership also gives businesses an opportunity to get involved with a recently qualified Associate, to facilitate the transfer of knowledge.

With increasing demands on performance, when companies recruit new employees they want them to arrive and hit the ground running, it is difficult to justify a long term induction policy when existing employees are immersed in projects and tight schedules. Triteq are no exception, as a company they are hardworking with an extremely loyal team, which has been a major contributory factor to their growth in a challenging economic climate.
A report from the Institution of Mechanical Engineers released on 20th May, found that 60% of manufacturers say that rising power bills are a major concern. This coincided with an announcement from Chris Huhne, who announced some of the strongest emission cutting targets in the world for the UK.
This week I will be at the Sustainabilitylive! exhibition in Birmingham checking out the latest ideas and listening to some of the key speakers, including Ian Heasman from Taylor Wimpey and Dr. Stephen Bass from DEFRA.
